Calendar of Events 2013/2014

Scottsdale "Fall for the Arts"
November 13 - 17, 2014
Picture
Fall for the Arts brings together several art related events around the valley, Thursday through Sunday, November 13 - 17.  Scottsdale Fine Art is pleased to be participating in the special City of Scottsdale sponsored ArtWalk on Thursday, November 13 from 7 - 9 PM.

Gallery artist Michael Maczuga will be demonstrating his impressionistic figurative painting in the gallery with a live model. Maczuga is one of the few artists who can capture the innocence, personality and wide-eyed wonder of children of any ethnicity or culture. Maczuga's new pieces will delight our patrons. He will also have some recent plein-aire landscape paintings to show during this event.

We will also be featuring new works by our talented still life artist Clinton T. Hobart. Throughout the year, especially during our high season (October through May), Hobart continually sends new still life studies. These wonderful little 6 x 8 still life studies of fruits, cheeses and the occasional crashing ocean scene, are a favorite among our collectors. Sold unframed, they are easy to set on a small easel or add a little color just leaning against a stack of books, or along a kitchen back splash. We'll also feature more detailed and finished works by Hobart. These finished still life paintings are created with layer upon layer of paint and glaze, giving them a luscious, three dimensional realistic quality.

Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk
December 27th, 4014   Noon to 4 PM

We are celebrating our 17th annual Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk on this date by showcasing the works of Gregory Packard and introducing Laura Lacambra Shubert. Both of these artists use broad brushstrokes, juicy color and a masterful touch. Gregory expresses his love for the natural world in vibrant, richly hued landscapes, seascapes and still lifes, especially florals, all done in a wet on wet technique called "alla prima". Laura Lacambra Shubert uses effortless and strategic strokes of bright white acrylic paint to depict light and shadow as key elements in each creation.

At this time of year our "Snow Birds" return to the valley and enjoy a multitude of events around Scottsdale. Many of our visitors to the gallery enjoy the more tactile nature of three dimensional art - so we aim to please. We will showcase new works by ceramicists Karen Shapiro and Betty Spindler and

Kathy Moberg, cast glass artist Stephanie Trenchard and bronze artist Carol Alleman.
